Scholarship Inception History
The idea for the Beaconhouse School Altit Alumni Scholarship emerged from a shared sense of gratitude among former students who recognized the profound impact their alma mater had on their personal and professional lives. Many alumni, now excelling in diverse fields, felt a collective responsibility to extend the same opportunities to talented students facing financial constraints. This realization led to the formation of an alumni-driven initiative focused on educational support, mentorship, and community development. Through discussions and collaboration, the alumni agreed to pool resources and establish a scholarship fund dedicated to nurturing academic excellence and ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder the educational aspirations of promising students.
The scholarship is structured as a merit-cum-need-based program, ensuring that recipients are chosen based on academic performance, financial need, and dedication to education. The selection criteria are determined through consultations between contributors, donors, and the sowEH team, ensuring a transparent and fair process.
