Dear Members of the Community,

At sowEH, we firmly believe that real progress is rooted in unity, driven by collective responsibility, and sustained through shared prosperity. Our journey is not about individual success stories—it is about building a resilient and empowered community together.

The support we provide through scholarships and other initiatives is not an act of charity. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that deserving individuals have access to opportunities that enable them to succeed. Any student applying for a scholarship or support through sowEH is not seeking a favor—they are claiming a right that they have earned through dedication, hard work, and merit. When they succeed, it is a celebration of our community’s shared values and commitment to excellence.

Let us be clear: social work is not a gift we extend—it is a duty we uphold. Every act of giving, whether it’s financial, intellectual, or voluntary, is an investment in the future of our people and the sustainability of our community.

Our strength does not lie in geography. It lies in our shared intellectual energy, in the values and customs that define us, and in the unshakable bond between our people—whether living in the mountains or in cities across the globe. The diaspora, with their connection to their roots and a commitment to uplift their community, is a vital part of our collective potential.

Let us continue to mobilize our resources, share our knowledge, and act with purpose and integrity. The path forward is not the responsibility of a few—it is a shared journey. When we unite under a common vision, we create opportunities not just for individuals, but for generations to come.

Let me conclude with the most amazing saying of Prince Rahim Aga Khan about future:

“Throughout your studies and youth, adults will tell you that the future is ahead of you. I want to tell you that the future is what you leave behind you, shaped by every one of your actions and your statements and your decisions. The future follows behind you in the path that you choose” (Prince Rahim Aga Khan, March 19, 2022).

So, together, let us build a future where education and health are not privileges, but rights accessible to all.

With gratitude and hope,
President, sowEH
